SAP on IBM i Webcast: Release Updates for Spring 2023

What is new for SAP on IBM i in Spring 2023? A new downward-compatible SAP kernel release 7.54 is coming that will have implications for users of SAP on IBM i. Some SAP profile parameter default values will change with this new kernel release, and if you choose to configure them, they may help your system performance with earlier kernel releases too.  In addition, we will provide an overview of the latest SAP and IBM release support matrices, so that you can plan for necessary release upgrades in advance.

Questions are welcome during the session. Some general Q&A time is also reserved at the end of the webcast for whatever else you may have in mind, and for your suggestions about possible topics for future webcasts.

• Christian Bartels, IBM - Software Architect, SAP on IBM i Development, ww SAP Technical Enablement Team
  Christian Bartels is the team lead of the joint IBM and SAP development team for SAP on IBM i. He joined IBM in 1990 and has been working with SAP on AS/400 and IBM i since 1997. Christian has been working in various positions within the SAP on IBM i team, among them responsibility for customer support, performance analysis, the database interface and SAP monitoring tools.
• Dr. Thomas Obermeier, SAP - Development Expert, SAP on IBM i Development
  Thomas joined SAP SE in 1998. He is a Development Expert at the SAP on IBM i Team. Over the years he grew expertise in a set of development topics, such as software logistics and SAP kernel. Currently, he works in the database group, which is in close exchange with Rochester’s development of IBM Db2 for i.
