Waeg joins IBM to deepen expertise across the Salesforce Platform in Europe

I’m excited to share that today IBM announced our plans to acquire Waeg, the leading independent Salesforce Platinum Consulting Partner in Europe driving experience-led digital transformation for enterprise clients. Waeg works with leading brands across industries, with deep expertise in manufacturing, healthcare, and life sciences. This is part of a broader IBM investment strategy in services and our second acquisition in 2021 in support of our Salesforce partnership – all focused on enabling our clients to drive transformative outcomes in their business by wrapping Salesforce with the unique capabilities of IBM, and now Waeg.

Waeg will join our world class Salesforce practice within IBM Global Business Services, enhancing an already strong Salesforce capability across Europe. Waeg brings an incredible resume of their own across the Salesforce platform and are one of only seven partners worldwide with Expert level in Pardot, Salesforce’s B2B Marketing Automation platform. Waeg is also a leader in B2B Commerce, boasting an Expert level; one of only six partners to do so worldwide. Given their depth in B2B Commerce, they have been members of Salesforce’s Partner Advisory Board for B2B Commerce since 2014. Given the challenges of the last 14 months and the impact we’ve seen on business, Salesforce Commerce and Marketing capabilities are at the top of many client’s needs and IBM and Waeg will now boast the strongest capabilities in the market.

As with any acquisition, there are capabilities, IP and offerings – and Waeg’s are incredibly strong. But the people and cultural fit are what make any acquisition successful. It was clear from the first discussion that the cultural match between Waeg and IBM undeniable. Like us, Waeg are deeply committed to their clients and their people – and not just in their language, but their actions. Co- founders Chris Timmerman and Jonathan Daens have built a very special company and I’m excited they, along with the rest of the Waegers, will be joining our team.

With Salesforce at the core of our customer Intelligent Workflows approach, and the drive towards new ways of working and engaging customers, it’s imperative that we continue to accelerate our growth to meet growing demand. In fact, according to our 9th Annual State of Salesforce report, the best-performing companies are 79% more likely to have established Intelligent workflows in their organizations. When core customer lifecycle processes connect beyond Salesforce, intelligence flows across the business end-to-end, making employees’ jobs easier, faster, and more productive. Among those who have established intelligent workflows, the benefits are clear: 86% agree that they have increased customer service / satisfaction.

This news follows the acquisition of leading U.S. Salesforce consultancy 7Summits in January – significantly bolstering our Salesforce talent across Europe and North America with strategic consulting expertise and capabilities. Adding Waeg to our team builds further on IBM’s continued investment in Salesforce services to meet the rising client demand for experience-led business transformation and new customer engagement strategies backed by data, AI, and machine learning.
