SAP on IBM i Webcast: Power 10 & IBM i 7.5 Efficiency and Security for SAP

With more SAP on IBM i users moving to IBM i 7.5 and to Power10, it is important for SAP on IBM i clients to know what changes to expect from these technologies as key new features have been enabled since each of them were made available. Power10 performance characteristics for SAP workloads will be discussed, in addition to what the Nest Accelerator (NX) brings to IBM i, including new options for compressing data when saving to tape devices. Changes to security settings in IBM i releases will also be highlighted, as all customers should take some actions to reduce security risks. Selected topics from the latest 7.4 and 7.5 TRs will also be covered.

Questions are welcome during the session. Some general Q&A time is also reserved at the end of the webcast for whatever else you may have in mind, and for your suggestions about possible topics for future webcasts.

• Ron Schmerbauch joined IBM in Rochester in 1988. Ron worked in Db2 for IBM i development for several years before joining the SAP on IBM i team in 1994, where he is currently the primary contact for SAP into the broader IBM i development team.
