IBM BigFix Patch: Pre-Announcement: CentOS 6 and CentOS 7 native tools sites to be deprecated by September 29, 2017

IBM BigFix Patch will be deprecating the ‘Patches for CentOS 6 Native Tools’ and ‘Patches for CentOS 7’ sites on September 29, 2017. These sites are being replaced by the ‘Patches for CentOS6 Plugin R2’ and ‘Patches for CentOS7 Plugin R2’ sites.

Support and Fixlet content will still be provided for these sites until the deprecation date. However, we strongly encourage you to migrate at your earliest convenience to the new sites.

Note: The ‘Patches for CentOS6 Plugin R2’ and ‘Patches for CentOS7 Plugin R2’ sites have undergone a maintenance exercise for optimization, where more than one year old superseded content are removed from the site. Therefore, the Fixlet count in these sites may differ from that of the native tools sites.

Actions to Take:

  • Subscribe to the ‘Patches for CentOS6 Plugin R2’ and ‘Patches for CentOS7 Plugin R2’ sites from the License Overview dashboard.
Note: If the sites are not showing in the License Overview dashboard, update your license from the dashboard by clicking Check for license update, then run the BigFix Administration Tool.
  • Register the CentOS Plug-in R2 from the Manage Download Plug-ins dashboard, available from the ‘Patching Support’ site.
  • If you need to access the sites for the superseded content, contact your IBM Technical Sales Representative to obtain the mastheads for these sites.
