Our first speaker, Mark Anzani, IBM Vice President for Strategy, IBM Zkicks off this exciting event to present the hot topic of the new IBM® z14™ (z14). Mark engages in business and product technical strategy projects focused on the IBM mainframe business. Additionally, he supports specific client projects that drive new implementations and uses of IBM Z technology. He is based in the Poughkeepsie New York Development Laboratory. on a rare trip from the United Kingdom for an extended session. John will discuss optimizing CPU resource consumption by using large real memory, share war stories, best practices, and much more.

Next we will have Mike Jordan, IBM Distinguished Engineer, Z Systems Security. Mike will deliver a critical & relevant presentation on the topic of ” IBM Z Pervasive Encryption”.IBM Z® pervasive encryption is a consumable approach to enable extensive encryption of data in-flight and at-rest to substantially simplify encryption, and reduce costs associated with protecting data. IBM Z® pervasive encryption can be used in conjunction with full disk and tape encryption, database encryption, and application encryption.

Our third speaker will be Jonathan Sloan, IBM Certified Technical Specialist, Data Management IBM Hybrid Cloud. Jonathan will present us with IBM’s approach to Machine Learning on the z/OS platform. Jonathan comes with deep technical skills. Since 1989 Jonathan has been involved with the design, implementation, management and sale of Multidimensional and Relational database Decision Support Systems and Management and Executive Information Systems.  Subject areas varied from Market share to Finance to Enterprise Customer information solutions.  Platform experiences include hands on implementation experience with System Z, pSeries and xSeries platforms. Jonathan currently supports the sale of IBM’s Business Intelligence Solutions including Extract, Transform and Load, Database Management, OLAP capabilities, Data-Mining and Reporting tools.

To round out the day, we will have Misty Decker, Program Manager, IBM Z Academic Initiative. Misty has held a variety of roles in z/OS Development, z Systems HW development, Customer Satisfaction and University Alliances.  She currently leads the IBM z Systems Academic Initiative enabling universities around the world teach Enterprise Systems to students IBM clients are looking to hire.  The IBM Academic Initiative provides curriculum and access to system resources to universities and then helps aid students in finding positions with our IBM clients.
