About Availability Monitoring

Use Availability Monitoring to create synthetic tests that monitor the availability and performance of your web applications from different public and private locations around the clock.

Create tests with Availability Monitoring. Configure your tests to run at defined intervals and chosen locations. Download and deploy your own custom points of presence (PoPs) on local or private servers. Run tests from 15 public PoPs at the following locations:

Asia
Chennai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo
Australia
Melbourne
Europe
Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Paris.
Central America
Mexico
North America
Dallas, San Jose, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
South America
Sao Paolo

When you have created and configured your tests, you can then view availability and performance data for your applications on the Availability Monitoring dashboard.

Availability Monitoring has the following key features:
Get started in less than 5 minutes
Create single action tests easily to monitor your web application's performance and availability within minutes.
Maximize uptime and user satisfaction
Monitor the uptime and response time of your applications frequently from several geographical locations. Run synthetic tests to measure the performance of website loading and API calls. Monitor Selenium scripts that you use to mimic user flows from different locations.
Be proactive
Receive notifications to alert you to issues before they impact users.
Identify reasons for failure accurately and quickly
Waterfall analysis helps you to identify the exact step when a failure occurred and the reason for the failure; for example, broken links, oversized images, slow lookups, or external requests. Screen captures are automatically created to help you to diagnose browser failures and historical performance issues. Download reports of monthly, weekly, and daily availability and response time averages for your tests.

To work in Availability Monitoring, you must be a member of a role that has view permission for the application that you wish to monitor. For more information, see Roles and permissions.
